Privacy Policy
Short, honest, and easy to read

Brisbane Vegan Guide is an independent, self-funded project — see the About and Contribute pages for the full story. This page explains, in plain language, what happens with your data when you use this site.
This site uses your browser's own storage (called localStorage) to remember two small things, so the site feels right the next time you visit:
- Language choice — whether you last read the site in English or Portuguese, so it opens in the same language on every page.
- First visit — whether you've been here before, only used to skip a small welcome animation.
Neither of these identifies you, leaves your browser, or is shared with anyone. They're not cookies in the traditional sense and aren't used for tracking or advertising — you can clear them at any time through your browser's site settings, and the site will keep working normally.
A handful of outside services help run the site. Each of them may receive standard technical information — like your IP address — simply because that's how loading something from another server works:
- Google Fonts — loads the typefaces used across the site. See Google's Privacy Policy.
- Google Maps — powers the embedded map on the Vegan Map page. Google may set its own cookies there; see the same Google Privacy Policy.
- CounterAPI — counts how many visits the site has had in total, shown in the footer. It does not identify individual visitors on our end.
We don't use Google Analytics, advertising pixels, or any other tracking or profiling tool on this site.
This guide links out to restaurants, delivery apps, social media, and other websites we don't control. Once you click through, their own privacy policy applies — we'd encourage you to have a look if you're unsure.
This site isn't directed at children, doesn't knowingly collect any information from them, and — as explained above — doesn't collect personal information from anyone at all.
If this page ever changes, we'll update the date at the top. Since the site itself barely collects anything, we don't expect this to change often.
If anything here is unclear, reach out via Instagram — we're happy to explain.
